Keeping You Safe While Protecting Vehicle Interiors - North Carolina Tinting Laws
Here at WeWrap, we want to reinforce to you as a proud and dedicated vehicle owner that we STRICTLY follow the tinting laws and regulations posted by the state of North Carolina. These rules are in place to keep drivers safe, passengers comfortable and secure while riding with you, and your vehicle well within the realm of compliance with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. While we do have various restrictions with what we are able to offer in terms of window tinting, this does NOT mean there is no room for personalization. We do our very best to make sure you receive a tinting package that works for YOU.
In having a closer look at the rules and regulations around window tint film packages here in North Carolina, we start with the windshield. For sedans and SUVs, the windshield may have a non-reflective tint placed above the top 5 inches of its surface. With regard to the driver and passenger side windows on sedans, none are allowed to have a tint allowing less than 35% of light in. This is the same when considering the FRONT windows on vans and SUVs, but for these larger vehicles, the back windows and rear windshield may use ANY level of darkness the owner desires.
Across the board, no tint on any vehicle may be more than 20% reflective and the only colors NOT allowed for a professionally installed window tint film in the state of North Carolina are red, amber, and yellow. Also, if the rear windshield has any level of tint, dual side mirrors are REQUIRED on your vehicle.
